Local students are hosting an auction in Spanish Fork on Saturday to
raise money to bring a severely burned Romanian boy to the United
States for treatment. BYU students Ashley Ludlow and Jessica
Free met Marius Vasile Dasianu in January while volunteering at a
Romanian hospital. Dasianu, 9, was injured in a November 2007 fire that
killed both of his parents and left him with devastating burns over 75
percent of his body. Dasianu has been officially accepted for treatment by Shriners Hospitals for Children. However,
team members are still trying to raise money to cover a number of other
expenses involved in the process. Shriners doctors estimate Dasianu
could need up to eight years of treatment. The auction will be
at the Primrose Retreat Day Spa, 978 E. Expressway Lane, in Spanish
Fork from 6 to 8 p.m. The public is invited to attend. For more about the team's efforts, visit TeamMarius.org. |
